Full day and nearly a full room!

Sorry, I couldn’t get behind the two full rows next to me. Why do church people all want to sit in the back? Even the pastors! They too fill the back rows first!

Be excited people! We have the best news there is to hear. Get on the edge of your seat, we are talking about the superiority of Christ over every message or form in the Bible.

Oops, better be careful. This is a communication blog not a soap box!

The official enrollment was 48, last I heard. But we broke 50 by my count when the late arrivals came early this afternoon. Good turnout. Good conference. Very humbling to hear how these workshops have been such a blessing over the years – and they me this one is right there with the best. But we can’t lose when talking about Hebrews. Every line is an encouragement for our walk with Christ

And if you are counting animals… add foxes. Lots of 🦊! “Must have high walls or dogs if you have chickens. Lots of hungry foxes!” Says Pastor Daniel who has two dogs who curl up with his chickens to keep them safe and warm!

Animal Update

Dear Miss W,

Here is the better answer to your question about animals in Romania. Pastor Daniel, a Romanian pastor who speaks English heard me asking some other pastors about animals in Romania. From the town of Campina we see the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. That mountain range looks like a backwards “C” on the map. Pastor Daniel travels through the Carpathian mountains regularly and he says there are a lot of deer, bears and wolves in the mountains. He said to tell you they have all the normal farm animals. He would be happy if you would visit his country and see how beautiful the mountains are and experience how great the skiing is in Romania.

Answers for Mr. Evan and Mrs. Shelby’s Sunday School class

1. What is the weather like?

The weather has been nice. It is warmer than Spokane and there is no snow. Yesterday the sun was shining and the sky was blue but it is cloudy this morning. That is Ok, we will be inside all day today.

2. What does the sky look like?

When I saw your question while reading your beautiful, kind cards at home I went outside to take a picture of the moon and Orion in the sky. The moon was low and Orion was high and to the left. Last night I went outside at the exact same time of the night to take a picture of the moon and Orion. The moon was high and right in the center of the sky and I couldn’t see Orion at all. But, it was kind of hazy and there was more city light than outside my front door at home.

3. What Am I going to do? Good question, Miss W! Today, I will be a teacher. Tomorrow, mostly, I will be a preacher just like in church only we will do that a couple times a day.

But the preaching and teaching will

Be different. We have to say a sentence and stop so that our interpreter can say that same sentence in his language because the pastors we are helping do not speak English. They speak Romanian which is a language based on Latin. I wish I remembered my Latin better but Instill recognize many of there words so I learned something in school that stayed with me even though I thought it disappeared, or I had forgotten what I was taught.

4. What animals are there? I saw a big rooster pheasant while looking out the train window! I felt like I was back in South Dakota. Even the farms and land looked like South Dakota. But here in Campina it looks more like Spokane. There are little hillls and I can see snow on the mountains and I think I see a ski slope far in the distance.

We see dogs everywhere! In the country, in the towns, on the streets. Do you know what that means? Be careful where you walk!!

Last night I heard geese fly over. Pastor Bill heard them too. I ran to my window, but I didn’t see them.

Later I heard crows. Lots and lots of noisy crows. I saw a lot of them flying over Campina too. This morning I woke up to a seagull sitting outside my window squawking away. What is he doing here? We are far from the Black Sea.

Thank you for your questions it is fun to think about you and “talk” to you. Maybe I will sing “Jesus Loves me,” like we do together. Don’t forget to sign while you sing it at home. Pretend we are singing together.

Ok, What’s going on here?

The “travelers second night!” Even though the body clock is upside down it wants to return to its routine time.

BIll feared it,

I didn’t.

I was so tired it seemed impossible. But, sure enough, I followed the pattern.

I took a “nap” and woke up feeling great, ready to go, only to see that it was 2:37! Then the thought comes, “I need to sleep.” Or, “how am I going to get through the full day when I start to shut down from fatigue.” After that? Well it was a long night — as was Bill’s, at the exact same time! We should have went for a walk in the night air to get away from the mandated heat in the hotel. That’s kind of a long story…
